For the first time, Nazrul Institute has made a documentary about our national poet Qazi Nazrul Islam after 21 years later of its establishment. The fundamental (original) motive of this documentary is to authenticate those memorable places where he was dwelt in Bangladesh. This documentary named “Kumilla-e Nazrul” (Nazrul in Kumilla) has composed and designed & directed by Abdul Hai Shikder, the executive director of Nazrul Institute. This documentary has made on the basis of those places he stayed in Kumilla, wrote the most important topic is the joining of Nazrul in that procession which was occurred for the arrival of 6th Gorge in India. That time he composed the song ‘Vikkha Dao Parobashi’. This song was the background music of that procession. It’s mentionable that female were first joined in this procession for ‘Shwadeshis Movement’. A documentary was also made about the poem ‘Bijoyeni’ which was dedicated by the poet to his wife. Moreover some rare and precious photographs of his childhood are also in this documentary. This is about his struggling youth and his biography.

The director of this documentary said, “Although Qazi Nazrul Islam is our national poet, until now his many creations are connived. But we should preserve and appraise his creations. With this aim in mind we made this documentary. Though we should have done it long ago, but now we are trying our best to get an enjoyable, decent and pleasing complementary gift to our viewers.”
